You're extra curious about this portfolio score your portfolio has been assigned, so you decide to get a better understanding of what it means.
So, to breakdown the portfolio score a bit more. Your portfolio is assigned a number between 0 and 1000. 0 being the worst and 1000 being the best. This is modeled after credit scores so there is a familiarity. Every 200 points is assigned a color value and adjective to help convey and drive home the meaning of each score.

To go even more in depth, your portfolio score is calculated using a bunch of different metrics, with the main focus being on Sharpe ratio, downside protection score, and risk match.
These metrics are scored and defined to help you get a better understanding of what they mean. There is even an entry point to improve your score.

Now that you understand your portfolio score, you set your sights on recommendations. This is the core way that GP helps you improve your portfolio.
Recommendations are ordered from the most to least impactful. Which means that sometimes the most impactful will not raise your portfolio score the most because it balances expected return, risk, and Sharpe ratio.
For example, if you look below, the first recommendation only raises your score by 5 points, while the second one raises it by 10 points.

You look over the first recommendation and agree that's the right thing to do to improve your portfolio. You click the button to reduce the amount of TSLA you own.
A modal sheet slides into view, you enter the dollar amount of TSLA you want to remove from your portfolio, and you save. Remember, you still need to go to your broker app and sell those shares to actually improve your portfolio.

There is a core concept to understand when it comes to portfolios in GP. There is your primary portfolio, which is based on the accounts you connected. Then there is your draft portfolio, which is based on an optimized version of your primary portfolio.
A draft portfolio is automatically created for you when you join. You can switch between your primary and draft portfolio in the top of the sidebar. You can have an infinite amount of drafts for different scenarios, e.g. retirement.
When you accept of decline recommendations, those actions will only apply to the portfolio you have currently selected.

Draft portfolios are for experimenting. You can get deep insight into how different investment combinations will perform over time and how they will react to seismic events in the economy, e.g. COVID.
Creating your first draft portfolio is easy. You just need to give it a name, description, and add the investments.

Remember the COVID-19 pandemic? How about the global financial crisis? Or what about the tech bubble?
You can simulate your primary or draft portfolios to see how they would perform during these catastrophic events. The great thing is that GP provides recommendations for macro risks like these to help protect your portfolio.

Maybe you need a little assistance in figuring out how to plan for your future. Templates allow you to do just that. GP provides a number of different templates to help you explore and plan to find a portfolio that fits your needs.

You can dive into the details of the template or easily add it to your drafts. Like most interactions when needing to see more details, you'll see a sheet slide in showing those details, so you still get context of where you are and can easily navigate between the details of different templates.
